Salary: $35 - $48 per hour with regular overtime

The Lead Wildfire Mitigation Specialist is responsible for assisting the Senior Lead Wildfire Mitigation Specialist in the day-to-day operations and management of your team. Perform client evaluations and build their wildfire mitigation plan. Leads may also be in charge of running drones during Private client evaluations and managing the software, this will require a certification that Ember Defense will assist in obtaining. Will be deployed as a team lead to service customers in a rapid response incident. During deployment, you will be acting independently with your team members and staying in close communication with the senior lead and Incident commander at base camp. All wildland fire safety practices will be followed at all times. Ember Defense will assist in keeping all necessary certifications and training up to date. You will be expected to practice professionalism while communicating with all customers and team members. Complete evaluations of residential and commercial properties as needed.

Responsibilities

Ensure all trucks, equipment and PPE are prepared for Rapid response calls.
Manage your team on Rapid Response deployments and incidents.
Keep working areas clean and organized.
Keep equipment in good working order, assist the Senior lead with admin work such as inventory, documentation and equipment maintenance.
Develops and maintains logs and records of incidents, time spent, tools and equipment used
Follows company and industry safety guidelines and regulations
Ensure proper application of all products in a response situation
Escalate any issues to the Senior lead or Regional Fire Officer
Complete evaluations of commercial and residential properties for the private client program
Build wildfire mitigation plans and reports after evaluations.
Fly drone during evaluations and manage Drone deploy software.
Responsible for all services on customer properties during rapid response deployment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to lead others, be a positive influence on team members and uphold company policies and safety standards.
Ability to use fire pumps and properly perform hose evolutions.
Wildland firefighter training
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Excellent customer service and ability to work well with others.
Ability to work 24-48 hour shifts.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods standing, bending, lift, squatting
Ability to be on your feet fall day, walking on uneven terrain
Ability to work in confined spaces and outdoors
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Education and Experience

Wildland firefighter 2 or greater certifications and experience
At least 2 years of firefighting experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Related experience required
Combination of education and experience will be considered
